Midnight Walk
The moon shone as bright as the sun as we walked along the beach, gazing at the starry sky above. The sweet, salty smell of the Pacific Ocean floated in the air around us as we enjoyed the feeling of the sand between our toes. Our hands clasped as tightly as a child would hold on to his stuffed animal with fear. Gently words are traded back and forth as we stroll along the ocean, reflecting the moon's light like a mirror. As we proceed walking into the nothingness of the beach and there sereneness of the night, we quietly sing a song that portrays the emotions of the night. We tell of our dreams of the future and how each other would be in them forever. The roar of the ocean beside us is a large animal fighting to be freed from its cage. The feel of the crisp water around our ankles reminds us again of reality and that time is continuing to pass. Immediately the peaceful moment is taken as we are forced to run back in search of something, I will never know what. It is like the treasure chest that the pirate never finds. Constant searching and longing for it, but never quite able to grasp it. This panic begins to melt away with the sound of my alarm clock like a screeching bird. Again the beginning of another day.
