If only I Could be like Superman
To fly or not to fly?
My only life-changing question.
Now homework to do, not peers to please,
Just being strong,
And being me.
It I were like Superman.
With massive arms of iron the cold would never rattle my teeth;
With buns of steel no trouble with the boys,
I could work unceasingly, with interminable endurance.
And from stresses, I'd be free.
Never worrying about my grades or the opinions of old friends.
If I could be Superman.
These tormenting headaches would be dead in their tracks
Never daring to challenge such as I.
Those boys who mock and laugh and jeer
Could never be strong enough to fight me.
could walk into a room
Always noticed, never forgotten
And people would love me.
If only I were like Superman.
But this hero is stuck deep inside of me, only wanting permission to escape,
Threatening one day to save the world of this disease-ridden girl.
